How to Play Word Search
Play word search puzzles online for free, right in your browser, with a new grid every time. Word Search was made by the CrazyArcade team. Each puzzle picks a theme, such as animals, fruits, countries, sports, space, ocean, jobs, kitchen, weather, music, colors, school, garden, vegetables or transport, and hides a set of words from that theme among random letters. You can pick a theme from the menu or leave it on Random. There are three sizes. Easy is a 10 by 10 grid with 8 words that only run left to right or top to bottom. Medium is 13 by 13 with 11 words and adds diagonal words. Hard is 15 by 15 with 14 words that can run in any of the eight directions, including backwards. To mark a word, drag across it with the mouse or your finger, or tap its first letter and then its last letter. A found word gets a colored capsule on the grid and is crossed off the list. The timer starts when the puzzle appears and stops when the last word is found. If you get stuck, the Hint button flashes the first letter of a word you have not found yet, but each hint adds 10 seconds to your time. When you finish, you see your final time and your best time for that grid size, which is saved in your browser.

Pro Tips to Win
- Scan for rare letters like Q, Z, J, X or K that appear in the word list, since they stand out quickly in the grid.
- On Hard, words can run backwards, so when a word's last letter is easier to spot, start from that end and read in reverse; selecting in either direction counts.
- Hints cost 10 seconds each, so save them for the last one or two words when chasing a best time.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Are the puzzles the same every time?
A: No. Every new puzzle picks words from a themed list and places them at random positions, so the grid is different each time you play, even on the same theme.
Q: Are best times kept separately for each size?
A: Yes. Easy, Medium and Hard each keep their own best time in your browser's local storage, and hint penalties are included in the time.
